Appointments Procedure flowchart
The Appointments Procedure starts when an adult volunteers or is asked to help with a Scout Group. As you would expect with any person working with young people, it is necessary to carry out various checks on any adult new to the Movement. The attached flowchart details the Appointments Procedure to be followed up to the presentation of a Leader Warrant or a local Certificate of Appointment.
Once initial clearance from Scout Headquarters is received, a ‘Provisional Appointment’ is issued and the procedure then includes attendance at a District Appointments Sub-Committee Meeting and the completion of the ‘Getting Started’ Modules - this should be carried out within 5 months.
