Kenya Expedition Team get set...

Explorer Scouts participating in this summer’s expedition into the African bush are making their final preparations before the off.

Robert, Jonathan and Jennifer from the Central Yorkshire section of the Yorkshire Scouts expedition to Kenya, found time to speak to the media about their forthcoming adventure. 36 Young people and 15 adult support will spend three weeks in the african bush. They will later split into three teams where they will make an ascent of Mount Kenya, endure a 100 mile camel trek and contribute to a school building project in the local Kenyan community.

Pictured on the Millennium Square in Leeds, the trio spoke to reporters from the press and broadcast media.

“We’ve been preparing for the expedition for quite some time now, so to think we’re flying out in a few days is quite nerve wracking,” said Jennifer.

Jennifer and Robert have also been invited to be studio guests on the BBC Radio Leeds breakfast show this week.
